The Devil’s Arithmetic, by Jane Yolen. This book is about a jewish girl in present day who finds herself transported back in time to Poland in 1942, during WWII. She finds herself in a Nazi concentration camp. Through this experience, she learns to respect the traditions and customs of her people. It’s a great historical novel. The movie by the same name is also excellent.
